Unity feat. Oupa Makhubela
Oupa (Poy-Poy) Makhubela is a founding member of the famous 80s band Unity. The band’s origins trace back to 1972–1973, when lead guitarist Makhubela recorded with The Young Movers. In 1975, he co-founded Unity with Jeff Radine, George Legobye, Edward Modiselle, and Robert Moema, drawing on members of The Sound Jaws, while Radine brought experience from Rugare, Harari, and other influential groups.
Poy-Poy’s musical journey has led him to global tours and collaborations with iconic South African musicians like Brenda Fassie and Don Laka, as well as Kwaito bands Alaska and Boom Shaka.Today he performs with a re-constituted Unity as the last surviving member of the original band.
